KISS will take over the Minnesota State Fair Grandstage Saturday

Hello Atrium! If you haven’t made it to Minnesota State Fair yet, time is running out and this Saturday is a chance to watch one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Tickets are still available to see KISS!

Famous for painting their faces, on-stage antics like breathing fire and pyrotechnics, the modern incarnation of KISS still features two original members. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, or Starchild and The Demon, recorded one album with a different band before searching for a new group. In 1973, an ad in Rolling Stone brought the duo to New York City where they joined Peter Criss and Ace Frehley. The rest is rock and roll history.

Classics like Rock and Roll All Night, Shout It Out Loud and Detroit Rock City will push the speaker systems at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. And whenever you regain your hearing, tell everyone about it at The Atrium!

Friday the 13th Superstitions

Broken-MirrorHello Atrium! Friday the 13th is considered to be one of the most unluckiest days. This superstition arose in the 19th century and has been freaking people out ever since. If you are somewhat of a believer then you should take these precautions. If Friday the 13th is just another day to you then dance tonight away with the other zombies who aren’t scared. Friday the 13th Zombie Dance

1. Carry a rabbit’s foot.

2. If you even dare to get on a plane today to New York avoid the sewers.

3. Don’t walk under a ladder. The ladder represents a creepy end.

4. Do not drink soda and eat pop rocks at the same time. This deadly combination will explode in your stomach.

5. Do not break a mirror. Unless, you want bad luck for seven years make sure the mirror is your best friend. How to Dispel Bad Luck

Navigating the Kids Menu

Posted on August 5, 2010 · Leave a Comment

BillboardsHello Atrium Apartments! Ensuring you and your family are eating healthy can be challenging especially when you are dining out. When you review the options on the kids’ menu at most restaurants their food selections are more festival friendly than kid friendly. Let’s face it kids love festival foods such as burgers, fries, and milk shakes. However, that does not equate to healthy or kid friendly. Quite a few restaurants have made slight changes to their menu to offer a healthier alternative for kids. Below is a list of the 5 meals your kids should avoid. For more ways to find healthy alternatives for your kids watch the video below.

Meals Your Kids Should Avoid

Fettuccini Alfredo meal at Olive Garden

Grilled Cheese and French fries at Applebee’s

Kookaburra Chicken Fingers meal and Aussie Fries at Outback Steakhouse

Slap Shot Sliders (2) meal and Finish Line Fries at Denny’s

Mac & Cheese Quesadilla meal and a Friendly Frank, Shirley Temple and Friend-z Peanut Butter Cup at Friendly’s

Wolf-at-Minnesota-ZooHello Atrium! Living in Burnsville, MN has a lot of benefits. I would have to say our location being number #1. The city of Burnsville, has thousands of acres of parks, almost 100 restaurants, and is great for shopping. As a suburb of the Twin Cities we have access to a diverse selection of international cuisines, a booming theatre district, and  most importantly the zoo.

Minnesota Zoo

The Minnesota Zoo is a unique experience. They have over 500 different species of animals, an exotic bird show featuring America’s own Bald Eagle, and a ZooMobile. You and your family can learn how cow milk is turned into pasteurized cheese. Stop by the petting farm to pet the hogs, roosters, goats, and more. This zoo also has underwater creatures such as dolphins and sharks. If your kids really enjoy animals enroll them in one of the zoo’s summer camps. More Information
